Clark – Secret (featuring Martina Topley-Bird)

While in San Francisco earlier this week I saw the amazing Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the de Young Museum. It is one of the best exhibits I have seen in a while and makes up ever so slightly for the fact that I missed the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met last year. I feel like I should not be posting photos and videos since if you see it in person you may not have the same surprised reaction I had, but I am posting them anyway for those who can’t make it to San Francisco before the exhibit ends on August 19th. While in my enamels class this past session, I decided to do something a little different from my usual cloisonné and etched pieces. I give you my spinning blood orange pendant which is a combination of copper, silver foil, transparent and opaque enamels. To see it in action, click the brief video above.

Last summer I bought a Canon 7D, and although it has the capability to take HD video I haven’t done much with it. The videos I have shot mostly just sit on my hard drive collecting dust. The other day I decided to take some video of the sky over DC since the weather was a little more dramatic than usual. The weather went from blue skies to downpour to blue skies pretty rapidly. Unfortunately I only have two 4GB memory cards, so I was limited in how much video I could take. I was hoping to capture the change in weather but instead have some video of the rain and some video of the clouds. Here is 11.5 minutes of video of clouds compressed into 10 seconds.
