Polaroid Retrospective II

In the past several months I would estimate I’ve spent some 40ish hours driving around rural Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania taking Polaroids (and other photos). You can see some of these photos (including the previous post and the one below) in the upcoming Polaroid Retrospective II show opening April 9th at Lamont Bishop Gallery.

Rural Virginia - Shot with the Polaroid PX-70 on The Impossible Project's Color Shade PUSH! film

I’ve been on a “wandering around rural Virginia” kick lately, piling up my car with cameras and stopping at almost every barn I see. Here is a photo I took on Color Shade PUSH! film. The left photo was scanned around six hours after I took it and the right photo was scanned a month later. This is one of the first Color Shade photos I’ve taken that I like. I’ve been having fun messing around with the film, trying to get more saturation in my images, but as of now I like the less saturated images better (like this one).

Note: I will have photos in an instant film exhibit opening April 9th at Lamont Bishop Gallery. This photo will undoubtedly will be in it. More details will be posted as soon as I have them.

Note 2: I love this DeVotchKa song. If you have a chance to see them live I recommend it.
